SUMMER STAFF

We are excited about your interest in investing your summer here at Camp Bayouca!

As a member of our summer staff, you will have the opportunity to minister to youth through building and forming intentional relationships that will make an eternal impact. During the summer you will also be given a mentor who will invest time in you, so that you can reach and extend past the goals that you set, growing in your relationship with God.

Please take some time and look at the different job descriptions below along with the calendar for some key dates about the summer, training, and camps. Summer Staff

Summer Staff Job Descriptions

Aquatics Director

Must be 18 or older

  • Manage and create schedules for the Lifeguards

  • Supervise all water activities (Pool and Lake Front)

  • Administer the swim test

Counselor

Must be 18 or older

  • Lead a cabin of 7 to 10 camper each week

  • Participate with your campers in different activities

  • Invest in your campers with starting and leading engaging spiritual conversations

  • Invest in your Jr. Counselor

Head Cook

Must be 18 or older

  • Plan out the meals for the week

  • Make food orders

  • Prepare and cook the meals

  • Manage and supervise the Kitchen Workers

Hospitality Supervisor

Must be 18 or older

  • Run and maintain the camp store and snack shack

  • Make the snack shack orders

  • Clean the bathrooms

  • Prep the dining hall for mealtimes

  • Supervise the Hospitality workers

Junior Counselor

Must be 16 or older

  • Help the Counselor with the campers

  • Engage the campers in spiritual conversation

  • Participate with the campers in games

  • Help with the big camp games

Lifeguard

Must be 16 or older

  • Work with the Aquatics Director

  • Help oversee the water activities

  • Help with swim test

  • Make sure the campers are safe

  • You will most likely be a Jr. Counselor also (See Jr. Counselor role)

Nurse
  • Dispense medicine for campers

  • Check the cabin’s for cabin clean up each day

  • Attend to any injuries that happen throughout the week of camp

  • Keep a logbook for the state each day

Tech Intern

Must be 16 or older

  • Work with the Program Director

  • Take video and pictures throughout the week

  • Make a recap video for halfway through the week and the end of the week

  • Help run the soundboard for chapel

Business Intern

Must be 18 or older

  • Work with the Office Manager

  • Get the folders ready each week for the counselors

  • Send reports back to churches each week

Craft Supervisor

Must be 16 or older

  • Run and maintain the craft building

  • Come up with exciting and new crafts for the kids

Hospitality

Must be 16 or older

  • Work with the Hospitality Supervisor

  • Help run snack shack and the camp store

  • Clean the bathrooms

  • Clean the cottage each week for the camp speaker

  • Prepare the dining hall for mealtimes

  • You will most likely be a Jr. Counselor also (See Jr. Counselor role)

Jet Ski Driver

Must be 18 or older with NYS boating license

  • Drive the Jet Ski for tubing

Kitchen Workers

Must be 16 or older

  • Help the Head Cook with meal prep and cooking

  • Serve food on the line each meal

  • Clean dishes after each meal

  • Keep the kitchen clean

  • You will most likely be a Jr. Counselor also (See Jr. Counselor role)

Maintenance

Must be 16 or older

  • Work with the Maintenance Director

  • Clean bathrooms and dining hall

  • Upkeep around camp

  • Mowing and weed-whacking the campground

  • You will most likely be a Jr. Counselor also (See Jr. Counselor role)

Program Intern

Must be 18 or older

  • Work with the Program Director

  • Help plan some of the summer program

  • Help run the summer program

  • Help with staff training

  • Help lead the Counselors
