OUR PURPOSE is to create a peaceful environment away from this troubled world giving each camper time and room to grow and to take their next spiritual steps in their walk with Christ.

Dave & Stacy Wilcox are both graduates of Word of Life Bible Institute and School of Youth Ministry. Dave received his Bachelor of Religious Education from Practical Bible College and has done some graduate work at Baptist Bible Seminary as well. They have two sons and three granddaughters. They have been involved in three different camp ministries, including serving as Assistant Director at Bayouca in the past.
Jason, Lori and the boys came to Camp Bayouca in 2018. Jason is an experienced tradesman and served for years as a local church Pastor. He and his family desire to be fully invested in serving Christ and His Church.
Heather started working in the office at Bayouca in the fall of 2019. She and her husband, Jason, have four children. Heather previously worked at Life Choices Center in Binghamton as a program coordinator, as well as several jobs in the education field, including teaching and social work. She is a graduate of Cedarville University (BA) and Marywood University (MSW). In addition to being a busy mom, she is happy to be able to serve God here at Bayouca.
What We Believe
We believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Scriptures; both the Old and New Testaments, and inerrant in the original writings, and that the literal, historical, grammatical method of interpretation necessitates a dispensational application of them.
We believe in the absolute Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; that He was active in creation; begotten by the Holy Spirit; born of the Virgin Mary; perfect in His humanity and His deity; His vicarious sacrifice for the remission of sin through the shedding of His blood; the resurrection of His crucified body; His ascension into heaven, exaltation at the right hand of God, where as our High Priest, He performs His ministry as intercessor and advocate. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:20-23; John 10:17, 18; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-3; 7:25; 9:22; 1 John 2:1-2; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16, 17)
We believe that God is sovereign in the bestowal of all His gifts; that each gift present in the early church served a distinct purpose. Many of the gifts of the Spirit are still present today for service unto the perfection and edification of the body of Christ. We further believe that the “sign” gifts ceased as the purpose of their existence was fulfilled in the early church. These “sign” gifts served as a sign to Israel and as a means of confirmation or authentication of the message of the apostles. Therefore, we conclude that the gifts of tongues, healing, and other sign gifts are not present in the church today and for this reason should not be sought after by believers. We believe that the present day charismatic movement is an abuse of the Scriptural teaching concerning spiritual gifts and that any involvement in its program or practice is to be carefully avoided. We accept the literal Genesis account of Creation and believe that man came by direct creation of God and not by any process or form of evolution. (Genesis 1, 2; Colossians 1:16, 17; John 1:3)
We believe that the salvation of sinners is divinely initiated and whole of grace through mediatorial offices of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who, by the nature, yet without sin, and honored the divine law by His personal obedience, this qualifying Himself to be our Savior; that by the shedding of His blood in His death He fully and vicariously satisfied the just demands of a holy and righteous God regarding our sin: that His death was a voluntary substitution of Himself in the sinner’s place, the just dying for the unjust, Christ the Lord bearing our sins in His own body on the tree; that having risen from the dead He is now enthroned in Heaven, and uniting in His wonderful person the tenderest sympathies with divine perfection, He is in every way qualified to be the only suitable, compassionate an all sufficient Savior. We believe that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of salvation. Repentance is a change of mind and purpose toward God prompted by the Holy Spirit and is in integral part of saving faith. We believe that all who are born again are kept by the Father for Jesus Christ. We believe that sanctification is the process whereby saints are being conformed to the image of Christ. We believe the ordinances to be observed only by the local church are two:
Water Baptism: baptism by immersion is an ordained testimony, portraying the believer’s union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection and that is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership. (Acts 2:41, 42; 8:36-39; Romans 6:3; Matthew 28:19, 20)
The Lord’s Supper: instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ to commemorate His death till He come, and that attendance at the Lord’s table is dependent upon the believer’s obedience to the Word. (1 Corinthians 1:23-32; 1 John 1:7-9)
We believe that Christ rose bodily from the grave “the third day according to the Scriptures”; that He alone is our “merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God”; that “this same Jesus which taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go in to heaven”; imminently bodily, personally and visibly; that it is composed of two aspects: His pretribulational coming in the air for his saints prior to the Day of the Lord, in which the “dead in Christ shall rise first” and the living saints “shall be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye; and later, at the end of the Great Tribulation, His pre-millennial coming with His saints to the earth to set up the Throne of David; that He shall reign upon the earth a thousand years in righteousness until He will put all enemies under His feet. (Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Hebrews 1:3; 8:1-6; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Matthew 28:6, 7; 24:21; 1 Timothy 2:5; John 14:3; 1 Corinthians 15:42-44, 52; Daniel 12:2; Isaiah 9:6, 7; Luke 1:32; Revelation 20:6; Isaiah 11:4, 5; 32:1)
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection. (2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:1, 2, 26)
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person; equal with God the Father and God the Son; that He was active in the Creation; that in his relation to the unbelieving world He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin; of righteousness and of judgment; that He bears witness to the truth of the gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the agent of the New Birth; that He seals, baptizes, fills, guides, teaches, comforts, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer. (John 3:5; 14:16, 17; 16:8-11; Acts 1:8; 5:3-4; Romans 8:16; Ephesians 1:13, 14: 2 Thessalonians 2:7)
We believe in the PERSONALITY and REALITY of Satan, who is a fallen created angelic being, ‘the god of this age’, ‘prince of the power of the air’, and the adversary of Christ and His church, destined to the Lake of Fire. (Job 1: 6, 7; Isaiah 14:12-17; Matthew 4:2-11; 25:41; Revelation 20:10)
Fall of Man
We believe that man was created in innocence under the law of his Maker but by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless and innocent state in consequence of which all are not sinners, not only by birth, but also by choice and therefore under just condemnation without defense or excuse. (Genesis 3:1-6; Romans 1:18, 32; 5:19; 10-19)
We believe that a local church is a congregation of immersed believers, associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word; that its officers are pastors and deacons, whose qualifications, claims and duties are clearly defines in the Scriptures. We believe that the true mission of the church is the faithful witnessing of Christ to all en as we have opportunity. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations; and that it is scriptural for true churches to cooperate with each other in contending for the faith and for the furtherance of the Gospel; that each local church is the sole judge of the measure and method of its cooperation; on all matter of membership, of policy, of government, of discipline, of benevolence, the will of the local church is final. (Acts 2:41, 42; 15:13-18; 20:17-28; 1 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22, 23; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 5:23-24)
We believe in obedience to the Biblical commands to separate ourselves unto God from worldliness and ecclesiastical apostasy. (2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1; 1 Thessalonians 1:9, 10; 1 Timothy 6:3-5; Romans 16:17; 2 John 9-11)
