How do I send in registration forms?

• We ask that you would make sure that all information is filled out before sending the registrations in. 
• Once all the information is filled out you may send your registration form and payment to Camp BaYouCa, Box 204, Marathon, NY 13803.

What if a registered camper cannot make it to camp?

• If a camper sends in their registration but does not come they will lose the $50 registration fee. If they have paid more that $50 they will be refunded everything they paid above the $50.

My camper wants to stay with their friends, is that a problem?

• Our policy is to put 2 but not more than 3 campers from any one church together. This is to discourage cliques and encourage new friendships. Please be sure all involved parents and campers are aware of this policy upon arrival as this will save time and hurt feelings.

What if my child is leaving with one of their friends?

• If a camper is to be picked up by someone other than the person/church listed on the registration form, we must have that information in writing from the parent or guardian.

What happens when we get to camp on Monday?

• You will begin by going directly to the New Dining Hall. This is where you will complete all payment, choose a cabin, get your store card, turn in any medicines, etc.
• Please note that all medications, creams, Tylenol, etcetera must be turned in to the nurse’s station. 

What happens if my child leaves something at camp?

• Lost and found items are collected at the end of each week. If any camper has an item you would like us to look for, please feel free to call the office. It helps immensely if items are clearly marked with the camper’s name. All lost and found items are held by the camp for the remainder of the summer, and then distributed to various institutions. Any cost of postage for returning items must be paid before any item is mailed back. 

How does a church pay for multiple people?

• A church can pay for multiple people by sending one check along with a list of names and amounts for which they are paying. 

Can my child receive mail at camp?

• Absolutely! Campers love to receive mail at camp. You can send a letter from home or a package to PO Box 204, Marathon, NY 13803. We would recommend sending your letters on a Monday or Tuesday to be sure they receive their mail at camp. 

My child has special dietary needs can he or she still attend camp?

Yes. We can accommodate a variety of medical needs. We have had several diabetic children along with several campers that have celiac disease. We have experience with campers with everything from a red food die allergy to peanut allergies. My child has special physical needs can he or she still attend camp?

Probably. We have had many campers come with various needs and strive to do all we can to accommodate each camper. We have had cases of campers that are in wheelchairs, Mentally Handicapped, with crutches, and with broken arms, etc. If your child has a special need please call and let us know so that we may accommodate you. 

My family and I practice different religious beliefs than those of your camp; will this be a problem for my child?

No. While we are unashamed to be a Bible camp and will use the Bible to teach during our chapel times, it is not our desire to ostracize those whose beliefs do not line up with ours. 

How much spending money does my child need for a week of camp?

This matter is entirely up to the parents/guardians. Most parents send at least $10. If you would like your child to get a t-shirt, they are about $12.00. (You may tell the store card people to make sure a t-shirt is purchased.) This money is used for candy, crafts, and camp store items. 

How does my child keep track of his spending money?

Campers are given a store card at the beginning of the week that will help them monitor what has been spent and what they have left to spend. 

Does my child’s spending get monitored, or does he have free reign with it?

Our counselors are careful to help campers budget their money wisely. This is a big benefit to campers. However, the counselor does assume in this process that campers are intended to spend the money they are given. Please do not send your child with money you do not intend them to spend. 

I am nervous about sending my eight your old child to sleep away to camp for the first time. Will he be supervised and safe?

Camp BaYouCa prides itself in the careful care and supervision given to each camper that comes to camp. Each camper will be assigned to a college student who is responsible for nothing but the safety and care of that cabin. Each cabin has about six campers, so counselors are not on overload. Our counselors are supervised by camp directors with more than 40 years of camping experience. 

One of the counselors is from our church, can my daughter be in her cabin?

We leave this decision in the hands of our counselors. Many times our counselors are excited about the opportunity to minister to campers from their church. However, on rare occasions, counselors feel another cabin would serve that camper better, and we respect that.
